These terms cover booking an appointment with us, using this website, and
buying products or vouchers from the salon. By reserving an appointment or
using this website, you agree to them.
They don’t affect your statutory rights as a
consumer under UK law.
Who we are
Hashtag Hair is an independent salon at Chellaston Road, Shelton Lock,
Derby, DE24 9EF. You can reach us on
01332 704772 or at
salon@hashtag-hair.co.uk.
Hashtag Hair is a trading name of Laura Bailey, a sole trader. Our address
for correspondence, and for the service of any legal documents, is Chellaston
Road, Shelton Lock, Derby, DE24 9EF.
Reserving an appointment
You can reserve an appointment through this website, by phone, or in
person at the salon.
A reservation made online is a request, not a confirmed
appointment. We’ll contact you to agree a time that works, and
your appointment is only booked once we’ve spoken and confirmed it with
you.
We’ll contact you using the method you chose when you reserved
— phone, text, WhatsApp or email.
We’re open Tuesday to Saturday. We’re closed Sundays and
Mondays, so a reservation made over a weekend will be answered when we
reopen.
Prices
All prices are in pounds sterling.
Prices shown on this website and on our price list are
“from” prices. The final price depends on the
length and thickness of your hair, how long the service takes, the products
used, and the stylist you see.
We’ll always talk the price through with you and agree it before we
start. You won’t be surprised at the desk.
If more work is needed than we expected once we’ve seen your hair,
we’ll stop and discuss it with you rather than carrying on and adding
to the bill.
Prices may change from time to time. The price we agree with you at your
consultation is the price you pay for that appointment.
Paying
Payment is due at the end of your appointment.
We accept cash and card.
If you’re new to the salon and the services you’ve booked
come to more than £100, we ask for a £20 deposit to hold the
slot. We’ll tell you at the time — it’s never a
surprise.
The deposit comes off your final bill.
If you cancel with at least 48 hours’ notice, your deposit is
refunded in full or moved to your new appointment, whichever you’d
prefer.
Changing or cancelling
We know life happens. If you can’t make it, let us know as early as
you can — it lets us offer the slot to someone else.
To change or cancel, call the salon on
01332 704772 or let us know in
person.
Please give us at least 48 hours’ notice.
That’s usually enough for us to offer the time to someone else.
If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, or don’t turn
up at all, we may ask for 50% of the price of the service
you’d booked. This is payable at your next appointment.
We won’t apply this where something genuinely couldn’t be
helped — illness, a family emergency, or anything else life throws at
you. Just talk to us.
Running late
If you’re running late, ring us and we’ll do what we can.
If you arrive more than 15 minutes late we may need to shorten your
appointment or rebook it, because the stylist will have someone booked in
after you.
If we shorten a service because of a late arrival, the full price for the
service booked still applies.
Colour, skin tests and your health
This section matters more than the rest of this page.
Please read it.
A skin test is required at least 48 hours before any colour
service if you’re new to us, or if it’s been three
months or more since your last test with us.
The skin test is free and takes a couple of minutes.
We can’t carry out a colour service without a valid skin test on
file. This isn’t flexible — it’s how allergic reactions are
caught before they happen, and our insurance depends on it.
Please tell us about any medical conditions, allergies, sensitivities,
medication or pregnancy before your appointment, and tell us if anything has
changed since your last visit.
Please tell us honestly about your hair history — especially any
colour, bleach, henna or box dye you’ve used, including at home. Some
products react badly with salon colour, and we can only judge that if we
know.
We may ask you to fill in a short consultation form before certain
services.
We may decline or stop a service if we believe it would damage your hair
or your health. We’ll always explain why and talk through the
alternatives.
Weddings and bridal hair
We’ll agree the details of bridal work with you directly, including
any trial, the people involved and the timings on the day.
We ask for a 15% deposit to hold your date. It comes off
your final bill.
Wedding bookings take up most of a morning and we turn other work away to
hold the date, so they have their own notice period:
four weeks.
Cancel more than four weeks before the date and your deposit is refunded
in full. Inside four weeks, 50% of the total booking is
payable, and the deposit counts towards it.
The 48-hour rule further up this page applies to salon appointments, not
to wedding bookings.
If you give us details for other members of the bridal party, please make
sure they’re happy for you to share them with us.
Products and gift vouchers
Products bought in the salon can be returned within 30 days, unopened and
in their original condition, with proof of purchase.
This doesn’t affect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
You can still return anything faulty or not as described, opened or not.
Gift vouchers are valid for 12 months from the date of
purchase and can be used against any service or product.
Gift vouchers can’t be exchanged for cash and aren’t
refundable, but they can be passed on to someone else.
Photographs
We love showing off our work, but we’ll always ask before
photographing you or your hair, and you’re free to say no.
If you’d rather a photo already shared came down, just tell us and
we’ll remove it.
If something isn’t right
Please tell us as soon as you can — ideally within 7 days of your
appointment, while we can still put it right.
Where something’s genuinely gone wrong with work we’ve done,
we’ll put it right at no extra cost.
Your belongings
We take reasonable care of the salon, but we can’t accept
responsibility for personal belongings that are lost, damaged or stolen on the
premises. Please keep valuables with you, and be aware that colour and styling
products can stain clothing.
Your information
When you reserve an appointment we collect your name, contact details and
what you’ve asked for, so that we can get in touch and look after you
properly. We use that information to contact you about your appointment and to
keep a record of the work we’ve done for you.
We don’t sell your details to anyone. If you’d like to know what
we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, ring the salon or
email us and we’ll sort it out.
Our privacy notice sets all of this out in full,
including how long we keep things and who else is involved. Our
cookies page explains what this website does and
doesn’t store on your device.

one that applies, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed.
